It amounted to nothing and took time away from more Kakashi development/growth. I've always been heavily critical of Yamato's existence in the series. At the same time, not many named characters died, which really hindered the stakes on the war. His death was pretty pointless, mainly because there wasn't much focus on him in the story. But I don't want him to "Might Guy" his own child in the process) (Boruto might fix some of these problems, especially with Might Guy crippled and retired. Hell, we never got his dream match with Neji. His Drunken Fist never returned, he never proved that he could outdo genius talent with hard work, and he never surpassed Might Guy. The anime at least gave him his fight with that old Taijutsu master. They could have had him involved in Pain's invasion, or fighting Sasuke (like what Naruto SD did), fight Haku (Instead of Kakashi), or be the one to use the Eighth Gate (Since Naruto would save him from death anyway). Unfortunately, Might Guy seem to have replaced Rock Lee as the "Rock Lee" of the story. Although I will say his fight with Kimimaro, disarming Kisame, kicking Madara in half, and saving Might Guy from Madara were pretty cool. His aptitude with kids was refreshing and I think it grows well on him. That was unexpected and really hit me the feels 2- Shino getting some spotlight and acknowledgement. Now, I don’t like to end without sharing a few thing I did like 1- Iruka getting some light and the role he had in the wedding. Him realizing Hokage would have been ideal I get the idea that him getting married is a great way to provide closure on his loneliness growing up, but it just doesn’t hit as hard given the little screen time (virtually none) on their relationship. They previewed in the opening theme song and dammit they didn’t include it :( Naruto marrying Hinata I’d really sweet and all, but their relationship wasn’t emphasized at all so I feel like it doesn’t fit the theme of the anime well. 3- I really wanted to see Naruto finally as Hokage. The congratulations note wasn’t enough for me. 2- as you may guess from above, some closure between Sasuke and Sakura would have been nice. I feel like you can’t truly wrap up this anime without having Sasuke and Naruto finally reunited. I’m happy Sasuke came back and was pardoned and all before going off on his journey, but he he could have had some screen time on the last episode at least. 1- I wanted to see Sasuke and Naruto truly make amends. It seems lots of your points have been covered from other comments so I don’t want to beat a dead horse, but I did feel a bit cheated on a few things as well. ![]() ![]() I’m glad you posted this because I just finished the anime today.
